Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of surgical nursing experience, BLS certification, and a ND or compact RN license for a fast-paced acute care setting.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital with Level 1 trauma designation
• Patient population includes general, neuro, ortho, GYN, and urology surgical cases
• Experience with laparoscopic procedures and navigation required
• Shifts are 8 or 10 hours, Monday through Friday
• One weekend of on-call every 6 weeks plus one day of call per week
• Stay late shifts 1-2 times per week as extended scheduled hours
• Possible floating to nearby campuses within 20 minutes, though rare
• Uses EPIC EMR; experience with Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation
• Responsibilities include circulating, sterile prepping, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, patient positioning for surgery, and equipment set up
• Document care and procedures using EPIC EMR
• Team supports 33 operating rooms across multiple campuses
• Ceil blue scrubs are provided
• All staff must badge in and out at the facility

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active ND or compact RN license, obtained prior to consideration
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience
• Experience in large hospital or Level 2 trauma center or higher
• Proficient in circulating and scrub roles for general, neuro, ortho, GYN, and urology procedures
• Experience in fast-paced OR environments
• Cannot accept candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility; local rate applies for those living 60-80 miles away
• Previous employment with the system requires at least a 6-month separation prior to consideration
